Lori & Kurt Haskell

I read about Lori & Kurt Haskell about a day or so after the Christmas Day thwarted attack on the Northwest airplane out of Denmark.  They indicated they saw an "older, well dressed Indian man, about middle aged" accompanying Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab at the Denmark airport (http://www.monroenews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20091227/NEWS01/712279987/-1/NEWS), and this Indian man told the woman at the boarding gate that Umar had no passport, was a refugee of Sudan and that "we do this all the time."  Fast forward to them landing, and ANOTHER Indian fellow, 30-ish, is spotted when bomb sniffing dogs make a "hit" on his carryon luggage.  He is taken away, brought out and handcuffed, then led away.  This is the "man in orange" mentioned in this (http://haskellfamily.blogspot.com/2010/01/latest-story-by-kurt-haskell.html) post by Kurt Haskell.

Now the powers that be are essentially saying Lori and Kurt "saw things" or were "mistaken" and they didn't really occur.

When will people wake up, and begin to wonder just WHO is pulling the strings?  The Gov't has "eyes in the sky" that can find a LICENSE PLATE, but can't stop a suspected terrorist, nor can they find any record of the older Indian man (won't release the tapes), but they can release a still image of the Newark fool who jumped a gate to kiss his girlfriend goodbye!?!  What is wrong with this picture??

I took my little buddy Tyrone to get groomed last night, and he was a trooper.  He almost had an accident on the table, but he persevered.  I'm not sure I'll take him there again.  I like her, but she wants the owners to stay in the room with the animals, and honestly, and dumb as this may sound....I think he was embarassed at his almost pooping incident.  She said it's what they do when they are "humbled" (see: "disgraced"), and he was acting all shy in front of me last night.  So, maybe next time I'll pay the few more ($15) dollars and go to the place where I drop him off, then pick him up in an hour or two.  He seems to come back a lot happier.  I felt really bad for him last night, but he does look VERY handsome now!!

Now, this morning when I woke up, it was "hello again Mr. Headache."  I used the Neti-Pot, but it hasn't helped.  I finally contacted a specialist for my sinuses, so we'll see what (if) they find anything.  I'm just tired of feeling kind of crappy all the time.  It stinks.

KINK!!!

UGH!!  I have such a kink in my neck!  Last night (in my Benadryl induced coma), I do remember waking up a few times and 3, just 3, of my fingers on my left hand were numb.  What the heck?!?!
And so it begins....

Thank God I am here to see another day!!

Welcome to my blog.  I am just another American woman ("girl" in my own mind....I feel 33 in my head!), trying to get through the days, keep our house clean, make dinner (which rarely happens during the week), and stay afloat.  Oh, and I am a Muslim.  While I am happy with the decision I made just about 5yrs ago, I think some people may wonder "why"??  It was right for me, and I guess that's about all that really matters.  I met my DH about 5mos after I became Muslim, and most of my family knows this, and yet....some still to this day think I became a Muslim because of him.  *sigh*  oh well.  We all have things that makes us want to beat our head against a board, right?

Day 6 of Ramadan, and I'm tired.  Nuff said.

wow

I just re-read my past from December, and lo and behond ONE DAY AFTER I posted that I found out I was pregnant! ha ha, who knew?! Anyway, it once again didn't work out, but we did at least get to see and hear the heartbeat, which was amazing. We are still holding out hope that Allah will bless us with a baby.

The condo in MD finally sold, after almost 2yrs. We started looking at homes up here (in PA) around mid-May so we'd have a leg up by the time we went to settlement for the condo (at the end of May). We found a LOVELY townhouse, but kept looking at single family homes, but with the price range, we were getting more bang for our buck with the townhouse. So we made an offer. We are now new owners of a lovely 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath townhouse, with a yard (which we own and must take care of), garage and everything. We are truly blessed.

It is also day 4 of Ramadan, and I am doing fairly well, just VERY tired most of the time. Tomorrow I may try and eat more eggs to start my day, the protein does seem to help. I love coffee, but that early it just seems so acidic and makes me feel kind of terrible. I have to figure out another caffeinated beverage to help me get going in the morning. Cherry Coke?? (I LOVE that stuff!!).

Well, it's almost a year since my last post. I'm going to go on a bit of a rant, so if you don't want to see it, just click off now.

Just over a year ago my husband & I thought we might be bringing a new little life into this world, but it wasn't meant to be. We figured it would be no time at all that we could make another one, but it has not been the case. As I approach 42, I feel a bit of panic, since most doctors are harbingers of bad news when it comes to babies after age 40. Mind you, my Ob/Gyn was very optimistic about the fact that we were able to conceive with no aids and within about 5mos of trying more diligently. Add in the fact that my husband is in MD 5 days a week and I am in PA, and this could also contribute to the problem. But my biggest pet peeve is folks who don't even know me sending out "announcements" about someone having a baby. I realize now that always just off to the side, just out of range from the picture, are those who struggle with this issue and are in pain because of it. And many, MANY people do not even take a moment to consider those people, they just go ON and ON and ON about their new baby, their pregnancy, etc, as if everyone in the world can just snap their fingers and get pregnant.

It's frustrating, and it's painful to go through. I keep praying that God will see to it that we have a baby, but I just wish these insensitive people would stop e-mailing me with the "latest news" of someone I don't even know who just had their 3rd baby.
